Unfortunately we find ourselves in another national lockdown as the fight against COVID-19 continues.
The lockdown rules in place are similar to those put in place back in March and many people are now under a stay at home order; meaning a likely reduction in people using public transport.
We are understandably experiencing a significant volume of customer queries, especially for customers seeking a refund, following the government's announcement and I wanted to update our customers with our current position.
As of 11:30 this morning I have taken the difficult decision to temporarily suspend our discretionary cash refunds.
This is so we can understand the volume of requests and assess our capacity to process them without impacting on our ability to operate.
Whilst this suspension is in place we will be offering credit codes, for use on sytravelmaster.com, instead of cash refunds.
At present we will not be extending any tickets for any days travel lost; however, on a case by case basis we may consider this for holders of annual tickets who should contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Services & Systems
There are no planned changes to our systems, the tickets we offer or to their validity during lockdown. We are handling a large number of enquiries so there may be delays in responding to customers.
We advise customers to purchase lower duration tickets to reduce the risk of missing days travel and those who are continuing to travel should purchase their tickets online where possible.
Hopefully this lockdown is the last hurdle before things get better and I will review my decision to suspend refunds as the impact of this national lockdown becomes clearer.
