Coming Early 2021...
TravelMaster is aiming to introduce a system known as ‘Host-Card Emulation’ in Early 2021.
This will see tickets stored directly to smartphones instead of being downloaded onto a physical smart card.
Host-Card Emulation (HCE) sounds complex but it’s just a fancy way of saying that a virtual smartcard is created and stored on a smartphone. This virtual smartcard works just a like a normal one; except you don't need to have a separate piece of plastic.
Simply buy and manage your tickets through an App on your phone that you then scan on board to use. Simple.
