TravelMaster’s multi-operator ticket for South Yorkshire, SYBus, is continuing its streak of recognition, being shortlisted in the upcoming CIHT Awards 2026.
Organised by the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), the awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement across the highways, transport infrastructure and services sector.
TravelMaster has been shortlisted in two categories: CIHT Product of the Year Award for SYBus: The Integrated Ticket Setting a New Standard in Bus Travel and CIHT Collaboration Award for SYBus – Simplifying South Yorkshire Travel.
This news comes on the back of SYBus winning bronze for Best Smart Ticketing Programme - Single Operator or Authority (Fewer than 500k Daily Journeys) at the recent Transport Ticketing Awards 2026.
Since its launch in 2024, SYBus has sold over a quarter of a million tickets, helping people move freely on any bus across South Yorkshire with ease. With the SYBus ticket, passengers have options to suit their specific needs: 1-day, bundles of five 1-day, 7-day, 28-day and annual tickets and a 15% discount for 18-22 year olds.
Commenting on the shortlistings, John Henshall, TravelMaster general manager, said: “The CIHT Awards demonstrate the very best of the highways, transport and services sector in the UK, so we are thrilled that our innovative SYBus ticket has been within the industry.
“Since it was first launched, SYBus has been responsible for getting the people of South Yorkshire across the county with ease. We know how important it is for people to use public transport, and it’s fantastic to see that industry colleagues can see it too.
“We’re excited to head down to London in June and see how we do in our categories. Wish us Luck!”
Winners will be announced at the CIHT Awards Ceremony 2026 in London on the 17th of June 2026. You can read more about the awards and see the full shortlist on their website at https://www.ciht.org.uk/event/ciht-annual-awards-2026/
